Did you miss the earlier post: What LeMond said was; “I was on average … at 6.2 to 6.4 liters of Oxygen … which translated … to 92, 93, 94 VO₂ Max … I think only cross-country skier Bjørn Dæhlie … had those same numbers. So I think I had one of, if not the highest.”

LeMond underwent published, physiological testing early in his career — by the U.S. Olympic Training Center and Dr. Michael Coyle His VO₂ max was measured at 92.5 ml/kg/min. Its sad the Spencer, who I'd guess quickly accessed this detail has to keep his mouth shut to keep his job. (The omerta tradition continues?)
