Are his results really extraordinary? Statistically? Not compared to the 23 olympic golden medals or Phelps, or the record jump of Bob Beamon in Tokyo or even Usain Bolts 9.53. Even Ledeckies 2016 800 win was more extreem. And there are probably many more, none with the same amount of unfounded doping accusations.22-10-2025 08:07

Are we then talking about the assumption of innocence or guilt?22-10-2025 08:04

Of you want to bring a talented cyclist to the top it is better to do that in silence, however if you want to generate sponsor income you need attention, and what better attention than a promise for future results. It is clear where Madiots priorities are.22-10-2025 07:18

"it's every man for himself here." Sure except for Kopecky and Yara. So let me translate that right: "every man for himself and the rest for me" And the Dutch colours they mean nothing to her.13-10-2025 12:31

In the Merckx time he was able to stay ahead of a chasing peleton on flat terrain, not because he was so fantastic but because no-one cared or was capable, it was a time where you could combine sprinting with climbing and the top 10 of the tour were also in the top 50 of Paris Roubaix and vice versa. You could win a lot lore because it was the same group of rider again and again for classics, sprints or GCs Times were different.14-08-2025 17:49

These Merckx fanboys, himself included are starting to sound pathetic. Just enjoy the sport instead of all these comparisons and how in the old days the men were real men and competition was tougher etc etc. He is starting to look like a cat in a corner trying to defend his legacy Who is the greatest cyclist, I used to think Merckx but now I am not so certain who to name, Pogacar is not finished cycling and Merckx ... well certainly such a whiner can't be named the greatest of all time.14-08-2025 17:46

I liked the way Del Toro raced, attractive and humble, up till the last day, where he should have gone for it. 2nd or 3rd they both are podiums and nobody remembers who was what. Carapaz was leading the ascent, he should have lead the descent, that would have been a fantastic deal, considering he had most to lose. But he wanted more.17-06-2025 07:37

It is certainly unbelievable that Merckx would ever have used doping. And this story is further proof that he is innocent.27-05-2025 02:24
