Different times indeed. In 1975 the traditional cycling nations of Belgium, Netherlands, France, Spain, and Italy represented 45 out of the top 50 riders. In 2025 those same nations contributed just 21 of the top 50. In 1975 only 9 nations had any riders in the top 50, in 3025 there were 22 nations with riders in the top 5030-03-2026 14:42

Maybe e-sports isn't the most solid background for bike skills. Tadej by comparison was probably honing his skills in junior cyclocross races in the offseason19-03-2026 18:16

Let's see - Pogi wins 2024 Giro by 10 minutes over Danny and everyone says Pogi's performance was "dominant". Jonas wins 2026 Paris Nice by four minutes over Danny and some folks are saying that is meaningless because there was no real competition. Even though he got that lead in a shortened race with no epic mountain days where he has traditionally thrived. So, yeah, I am going to be consistent and call this a dominant performance. To be clear Pogi is still winning the tour if he stays healthy and upright on his bike.18-03-2026 20:11

Terrible headline. Top 5 is great, but it's never described as "dominant"17-03-2026 18:29
